Stainless Steel 405 Tubing consists mainly of iron with 11.5–14.5% chromium, low in carbon, and traces of manganese, silicon, and sulfur. A member of the ferritic stainless steel group, it has a tensile strength of ~485 MPa, yield strength of ~275 MPa, and elongation of 20%. The alloy has better resistance to oxidation, good weldability, and thermal conductivity and formability. It is cost-effective and dimensionally stable at high temperatures, making it an economical choice for industrial uses with requirements for heat resistance and ready fabrication.
