Chromium (0.50–0.80%) and molybdenum (0.44–0.65%) make up the majority of alloy steel P1 pipes, with balanced additions of carbon (maximum 0.15%), manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulphur. Their resistance to corrosive environments and high temperatures is improved by this composition. P1 pipes have an elongation of about 30%, a yield strength of about 205 MPa, and a tensile strength of 380–585 MPa. For increased strength and thermal resistance in industrial systems, these low-alloy steel pipes can be used successfully in heat-treated conditions. They also have good hardness, weldability, and formability.
