About 99.7% of the material in aluminium 1070 pipes is pure aluminium, with trace amounts of iron (≤0.25%), silicon (≤0.20%), copper, and zinc. Outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity as well as exceptional corrosion resistance are provided by this composition. Depending on temper, the alloy has a tensile strength of 70–120 MPa, a yield strength of 30–60 MPa, and an elongation of up to 30–35%. Although aluminium 1070 cannot be heated, it is very workable, particularly when cold forming.
