Duplex Steel 2205 Pipes generally consist of chromium (21–23%), nickel (4.5–6.5%), molybdenum (2.5–3.5%), nitrogen (0.14–0.20%), and iron (the remainder). This unique blend offers remarkable resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorides. With a minimum tensile strength of 620 MPa and a yield strength of 450 MPa, these pipes are nearly twice as strong as standard austenitic stainless steels. Additionally, Duplex 2205 is known for its excellent fatigue strength and good weldability. Its duplex microstructure provides a well-rounded mix of toughness, strength, and corrosion resistance, making it a dependable choice for demanding applications.
