Duplex Steel Tubing contains about 22–25% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 3–5% molybdenum, with the remainder being iron and trace elements such as nitrogen. This two-phase microstructure combines the optimum properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels and possesses high strength with superior corrosion resistance. The mechanical property is tensile strength of 620–850 MPa, yield strength approximately 450 MPa, and elongation of 25%. Major advantages are superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking and also high strength-to-weight ratio that permits thin walls and economy.
