Hastelloy N Pipes contain mainly 70–73% nickel, with additional 15–18% molybdenum, 6–8% chromium, and 5–7% iron, with residues of manganese, silicon, and cobalt. This unique composition gives outstanding resistance against corrosion in molten salt and fluoride environments, and higher oxidation resistance at high temperatures. From a mechanical point of view, these pipes provide tensile strength of about 690 MPa, yield strength of 310 MPa, and elongation of about 40%. Their excellent mechanical performance and chemical stability qualify them for harsh operating conditions in niche industries.
