A nickel-chromium-iron alloy comprising roughly 58–63% nickel, 21–25% chromium, and up to 14% iron, as well as trace elements like aluminium, is used to make Inconel 601 pipes. The alloy has an approximate elongation of 30 to 45%, a yield strength of 300 MPa, and a tensile strength of 650 MPa.
