Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Tubing is made up of 15–17.5% chromium, 3–5% nickel, 3–5% copper, and minute levels of niobium, balanced with iron. This precipitation-harding alloy has high tensile strength to 110 ksi (758 MPa) and yield strength of about 100 ksi, with excellent toughness and corrosion resistance. It has good weldability, ease of fabrication, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The hardening process increases mechanical strength and hardness considerably and thus finds applications in high-stress and high-temperature usage in various industries.
