Mechanical properties are tensile strength of 515 MPa (316) and 480 MPa (316L), with elongation of up to 40%. The grades exhibit good formability, ease of fabrication, and pitting as well as crevice corrosion resistance, making them suited for applications in precision instruments and severe operating conditions.
