Stainless Steel 321 Tubing is composed of about 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and titanium (which is at least five times the carbon content) to help stabilize the alloy against carbide precipitation. The carbon content is kept to around 0.08%. In terms of mechanical properties, it boasts a tensile strength ranging from 515–690 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa. This tubing offers excellent ductility, toughness, and resistance to intergranular corrosion, making it perfect for welded structures that face continuous or intermittent high temperatures. It also maintains impressive creep and stress rupture strength, outperforming 304 in extended heat service.
