Stainless Steel 348 Pipes consist of chromium (17–19%), nickel (9–13%), and columbium (niobium), which increases resistance to intergranular corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking. High-temperature stable, SS 348 has a tensile strength of 550 MPa, a yield strength of 220 MPa, and elongation of 35%. These pipes can withstand temperatures up to 1500°F (816°C) without loss of properties. Columbium addition stabilizes the material without carbide precipitation, improving long-term strength, making it suitable for pressure-carrying, high-heat, and corrosive industrial applications.
