Stainless Steel 416 Pipes consist of approximately 12–14% chromium, with a small amount of sulfur (~0.15%) added to enhance machinability. The carbon content varies from 0.15–0.25%. Typical mechanical properties include tensile strength ranging from 550–760 MPa and yield strength between 275–450 MPa, depending on the heat treatment process. This material can be hardened through heat treatment to achieve greater strength and wear resistance. While its corrosion resistance is not as high as that of austenitic grades, 416 performs well in mildly corrosive environments. Its excellent machinability makes it perfect for high-speed turning, drilling, and threading.
