Stainless Steel 439 Tubing mainly consists of iron, with 17–19% chromium and titanium added to enhance stabilization and corrosion resistance. This ferritic stainless steel grade boasts excellent resistance to oxidation, high-temperature corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. It offers solid mechanical properties, including a tensile strength of around 400–600 MPa, yield strength between 170–280 MPa, and decent elongation. SS 439 tubing retains its strength even at elevated temperatures and has better weldability and formability compared to other ferritic grades. It also shows improved resistance to chloride-induced corrosion, making it suitable for both thermal and corrosive environments.
