Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around ~760 MPa, yield strength of ~450 MPa, and an elongation of about ~15%. While it may not be as corrosion-resistant as austenitic grades, 440C performs exceptionally well in mildly corrosive environments, especially where wear and mechanical stress are a concern. Typically, pipes are delivered in an annealed, hardened, or tempered state, depending on the specific application requirements.
