Stainless Steel Welded Tubing consists primarily of iron, chromium (16–20%), and nickel (8–12%), with minor percentages of carbon, manganese, silicon, and molybdenum based on the grade. These components have excellent corrosion resistance and formability. Welded tubing generally provides a tensile strength of more than 485 MPa and excellent yield strength, adequate for moderate-pressure use. While not quite as strong as seamless tubing, it is otherwise excellent in dimensional consistency and surface finish. This quality, combined with economy, makes it suitable for structural and decorative work where internal pressure requirements are not the major issue.
